What Does Individual Language Consultation Mean?

A learning process with skill development personally tailored to your needs. Here, instead of the general skills-and-methods package taught at workshops, we focus solely on you. We investigate your specific situation, advise you on what we believe needs to be done to achieve your desired results, then proceed to perform these actions.

Perhaps you have been trying to familiarise yourself with a language for a long time without overt success. You may not have had the concentration, or the time, or were too compelled to focus on other tasks, or lacked confidence in yourself, or did not know how to learn efficiently. Perhaps you suddenly find yourself in need: you must acquire a new language for some reason. Or you want to make very fast progress. Or you simply lack the energy and the time to figure out how to arrive at your destination.

Well, you have the choice of handling the control over your individual learning process to experts. You know what you want. We know about language, culture, communication and learning. So we will gently guide (or grab and drag) you into the realm of your desired knowledge. We will test your present knowledge, give you individual tasks, teach you new learning strategies, streamline your pronunciation, acquire the right native speakers for you as well as computer programs, films, music, and all that is needed. We will monitor your progress and make you do whatever is needed all the way to your being delightfully surprised at attaining your goal. (This highly comfortable version is especially fit for executives and well-off folks desiring to be entertained.)

The other end of the scale is a single interview where we will point out the tasks most appropriate to your goals, your personality and your life situation. We may also suggest experts (teachers, mentors etc.) as well as materials. Then you go home and proceed on your own. Such a head-start session is well within the financial possibilities of even a high school student.

The majority of language learners would probably fit somewhere between those two extremes. They can check our ’menu’ to see what services they want to use and do the rest themselves. We may, for example, test your goals, skills, give you a jump-start, and check in periodically to make sure you are going in the right direction.
